Job Information

The Lead Generation Specialist will be responsible for developing, managing and tracking outside sales efforts for 4CTechnologies and its divisions, 4CDesignWorks and 4CGeoWorks. Daily activities include data/list management and diligent account research, as well as outbound prospecting, mostly via phone and email. The candidate will work directly with the company’s principal consultants, representing each of 4C’s three divisions, to learn and understand potential customer profiles, target markets, and service offerings. They must qualify leads, schedule follow up calls, have the ability to demo our offerings, and manage the opportunity through the sales cycle to potential close.

The Lead Generation Specialist must demonstrate drive, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. They must be comfortable on the phone and have the ability to align client pain points with 4C capabilities. A positive attitude, creativity and persistence applied to researching and interacting with qualifying prospective customers is essential. To thrive in this role, you must have the ability to handle rejection and push back from gatekeepers and/or potential prospects.


  • Manage front end of the sales funnel for the company — initiating prospective client cold calls and outbound emails — documenting progress and related results in 4C’s internal CRM.
  • Provide input into campaign development and roll out, providing input for outreach structure, marketing content, schedule, targeting and tracking.
  • Performs needed research about potential clients, capturing or correcting contact and organization information. Identifies best contacts within an organization, given the outreach at hand, and initiates contact.
  • Develop and maintain product, platform and industry knowledge to better communicate custom nature of 4C features and benefits to prospective clients.
  • Flexibility to initiate discussion and recognize sales opportunities when faced with customer pain points and need for technology support.
  • Ability to develop and communicate a compelling business case to the prospect along with managing follow up discussions and return calls.
  • Liaison with 4C management and operations teams, with an understanding of overall capabilities, roles and functions.
  • Familiarity with 4C case studies, challenges and solutions. May provide support for case study development and refinement.
  • Manages specialized vertical sales campaigns and assist with direct mail and tradeshow events if/when needed.
  • May assist with proposal generation, service orders and project requirements.
  • May perform special projects and other duties as requested.
  • May attend industry events or local meetings as required.
  • Limited travel (<10%).

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in email and MS office skills, i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in one or more CRM systems / sales automation software helpful.
  • Good organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of or experience in prospecting data services (e.g., Zoom Info), and email outreach tools (e.g. Constant Contact or Mail Chimp)
  • Self educates; Learns, adapts and advances skill set as technology changes.
  • Establish deepened industry understanding for the areas of focus, conversant in current topics, industry activities and technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to juggle multiple initiatives while maintaining a focus on sales activity required to attain opportunity identification.
  • Able to communicate openly and offer suggestions for program improvement.
  • Must work effectively individually, or within a team environment.
  • Able to accept constructive coaching as needed.
  • Maintains visibility on B2B social sites such as LinkedIn and participates in company blogging opportunities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Construction, heavy hauling, highway or manufacturing industry sales experience.
  • Familiarity with Skype, GoToMeeting or other online meeting systems.
  • Experience in content development and management, marketing or blog support.
  • Social networking skills.
  • Managing sales effort and networking in a trade show environment.

Experience – Minimum Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of sales or lead generation experience.
  • Proven track record and performance in B2B sales environment.
  • Degree preferred.
  • Salary commensurate with experience; may include performance-based bonus opportunities based on the campaign at hand.
